The Leadership
Wellness Program
“Everyone is a Leader because everyone influences someone.” – John Maxwell
Work-related stress for the individual can increase their risk to:
- Psychological Injury/Illness (depression, anxiety, burnout, emotional distress, suicide)
- Physical Illness (cardiovascular disease, musculoskeletal disorders, immune deficiency, gastrointestinal disorders).
For the organisation it can mean:
- Reduced productivity
- Decline in job satisfaction
- Increased absenteeism
- May increase accidents and injuries
- Conflict within the workplace
- Customer dissatisfaction
- There may be increased health care expenditure and workers’ compensation claims.
For a great modern leader, it’s all about “us”!
Let’s make wellness a group activity.
By identifying and reflecting on our work and personal groups and becoming aware of their compatibility and connectedness to our personal values has an impact on our wellness.
Often our differences in values are more evident than our similarities and this can cause friction within the workplace. Recognising and appreciating others’ values can bring about a move from isolation to inclusiveness.
